academic and College Counseling
Our Guidance Department is set up to meet the diverse needs of our students as they work together with parents, faculty, and the school administration. Our dedicated professionals take seriously the responsibility in planning and preparing each student’s academic program and the personal needs they may have. North Florida Christian is more than a school, it is a family bound together by shared values and goals which are rooted in the absolute truths of God's word.
You will find administrators and staff ready to assist you when it comes to academic counseling. Scholarship information, college choices, course evaluations, and individual counseling all are a part of the experience from the Guidance Office.
The guidance service is an integral part of the educational program. Counselors assist students to mature in self-understanding, decision making, and choices that guide them to fulfill their goals as they step into our society. The Guidance Department works to help the student understand themselves and to make the most of their personal potential.
The guidance program provides the students tools as they evaluate their own strengths and abilities. As sophomores and juniors students take the PSAT with juniors being eligible to be recognized as a National Merit Scholar and for the National Merit Scholarship. As they move into their junior and senior years, the SAT and ACT are a part of the testing schedule with NFC providing school day testing for sophomores, juniors and seniors who pre-register. The Guidance office can provide more information regarding those dates.
The Guidance Department offers guidance services to parents and students in a way that fulfills the school's commitment to provide instruction within a caring, Christian environment. Guidance is for the entire student body, and an attempt is made to challenge each student to develop a feeling of self-worth as they evaluate and make decisions about their future.
Students have access to many different resources, including guided Internet research and numerous career, college and scholarship reference books. Students are able to complete research independently or meet with our NFCS Guidance Director for assistance. Click the links below for details.
